KS Region 1 EMS Education Reimbursement Guidelines
These forms are to be used for either an individual person wanting to request funding from KS EMS Region 1 to attend educational offerings or for a service to help get funding to help pay for an educational offering. Please read through the guidelines in their entirety. The links for the request forms can be found below. After completion, the forms must be sent to the Region 1 coordinator for approval.

Service Education Reimbursement Guidelines
Introduction
It is in the best interest for the Kansas EMS Region 1 to promote continuing education to personnel and EMS agencies that benefit the Kansas EMS Region 1. Kansas EMS Region 1 is awarded funds to be able to assist EMS agencies within Kansas EMS Region 1 with expenses for continuing education. Kansas EMS Region 1 has established the following guidelines for awarding these funds:
Grant Details

Application for the grant funding must be made to the Region 1 EMS Council and submitted to the Region office PRIOR to the educational event for approval at the next scheduled Region 1 meeting.

If the event scheduling occurs after a Region 1 meeting date and before the next scheduled meeting, special email approval by the Kansas Region 1 EMS Executive Board, may be requested by submitting this form to the Region 1 Council office with detailed explanation of the event scheduling issue.

Applications will be reviewed for approval at regularly scheduled Kansas EMS Region 1 Council meetings.

Application for funding assistance through this grant must be made on the Grant Request Form.

Applications should identify the need for the event and how this will help the region.

Applications should break down the costs (i.e.: Registration Fees, speaker fees, room fees, catering, etc.)

Events that are funded must be open to all EMS agencies within Region 1 EMS.

Continuing Education credits will follow state requirements.

Applicant must be a licensed ambulance service within the 18 counties of Kansas EMS Region 1 (Cheyenne, Decatur, Ellis, Graham, Logan, Ness, Norton, Phillips, Gove, Rawlins, Rooks, Rush, Russell, Sheridan, Sherman, Thomas, Trego, Wallace).

The EMS Administrator of the affiliated service must verify the application before the application will be submitted to the Region Council for approval.

This funding will be used for continuing education classes; workshops and applicable expenses only.

Extenuating personal circumstances that prohibit course completion will be considered by the Kansas EMS Region 1 Executive Board upon request of the applicant.

EMS agencies that received the funding must provide an attendance roster to the Region office after the event that is being funded and provide a brief synopsis to the Council at the regularly scheduled meeting.

Non-Compliance

Personnel who repeatedly are in non-compliance with Region1 EMS Education Grant and Expense Guidelines may be blocked from submitting future grant requests at the discretion of the Region 1 EMS Council.
